Upon being formed in the womb, God knew Kim Stokes. Being born and raised in a family that is the epitome of beauty (spiritually and physically), it was easy for Kim to gravitate towards a life and career dedicated to beauty and wellness. As a child, her love for beauty and fashion began and grew immensely. Before graduating from high school, Kim began working as a receptionist in an upscale hair and nail salon. It was there, she discovered her commitment to her life’s work of helping others look and feel their best.
While matriculating through college at Morgan State University, Kim coordinated fashion shows and worked at a full service salon. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing, her career continued in the beauty industry working as a salon marketing manager. In addition, she managed a premier full service salon in Columbia, Maryland where she received her certification as a makeup artist from Von Lee International School of Aesthetics. Realizing she wanted to provide beauty services daily, Kim went back to Von Lee and graduated at the top of her class as a certified Aesthetician.
With over 30 years in the beauty industry, Kim’s experience includes managing salons & spas, event planning, traveling to coordinate & apply makeup for fashion shows, weddings, beauty magazine publishings, theatre & stage productions, teaching skincare & makeup classes, providing services for celebrity hair stylists Paul Mitchell, Reggie Wells and the launch of a cosmetic & skincare line. Meaningful experience also includes helping to start a ministry that grew into a mega church. Kim served on the official board of the church for 10 years and was appointed Co-Chair for the Annual AME Regional Conference. Facilitating as the Chairperson for ’Single Mom’s Day of Beauty,‘ Kim transformed the building into a full service salon and spa— servicing over 500 women in one day.🌸 ”This is what I was born to do and I am so thankful that my steps and my path have been ordered by the Lord.”
